Cathryn Evans
Cathryn was born in the Bahamas in 1977 and attended Lyford Cay School until she was ten and then went to boarding school in England to do her GCSE’s and A-levels. Following that she went to the University of Portsmouth and studied Hotel & Catering Management and later worked in restaurants in London and did an advanced wine tasting course at Prue Leiths School of Food & Wine. Cathryn’s passion for cooking has taken her to courses from beautiful chateaus in Provence, South of France to the deepest rural Thailand, learning the local traditions and styles of cooking.
Cathryn moved back to the Bahamas in 1997 and began a job working at Bahama Hand Prints as office manager and within two years became Vice President of the company, running day-to-day operations, accounting and international & local sales. After the sale of Bahama Hand Prints, Cathryn did an epic journey traveling around the world. Upon returning to the Bahamas, Cathryn embarked on a new career working at her father’s offshore private bank, The Private Trust Corporation Limited. Cathryn thrived as a successful Trust Officer and Special Projects manager for five years, before leaving to start her new venture, Island Concierge Limited.
Cathryn is an avid traveler & photographer and enjoys scuba-diving, swimming and boating.
Fina Johnson
Fina was raised in the Bahamas from the age of 6 months. She attended boarding school in Simsbury, Connecticut, spending her summers with her mother’s family in Sweden.
Fina has a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, and a graduate degree in Interior Design from the New York School of Interior Design in New York City, where she also worked for a high end Interior Design Firm. She continued on to own her own design company in Vermont and also worked in real estate, computer software development and sales, corporate convention planning in New York City, and as a head hunter for high end stock brokers world wide.
Fina has lived all over the world, including Australia, Brazil, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Canada, Mexico and many different cities across the United States. She also traveled and studied in Asia, Africa and Europe. Her extensive knowledge of all the Islands has been an asset to her success in Real Estate throughout the Bahamas. Fina speaks Spanish and Swedish fluently and is proficient in French. In addition to traveling, she enjoys tennis, skiing, snowboarding, hiking, art, music and ‘anything to do with the ocean.’
